Its aqueous solution is neutral or alkaline transparent viscous liquid, which is soluble in other water -soluble glue and resin. It is insoluble in organic solvents such as ethanol. CMC can be used as adhesives, thickeners, suspenders, emulsifiers, dispersers, stabilizers, and plasma in food , cosmetics, toothpase, oil drilling , paper, textile , battery , mining fields and so on .
